Quick Itinerary: Rio de Janeiro - Brasilia
8 Days / 7 Nights
Arrival in Rio. Reception and transfer to your hotel, the 4 star Mirador Rio Hotel. During the Carnival period, all hotels are as a minimum 5- night package. All hotels in Brazil at this time of year, require a full prepayment at the time of booking, and the amounts are non-refundable and cannot be used as credit for future reservations. Free day.
Day 2. Rio de Janeiro (Breakfast)
After breakfast, a visit of the "marvelous city" including a sightseeing tour to Sugar Loaf Mountain. A two-stage cable car takes you to the top of Sugar Loaf Mountain where you will enjoy a splendid view of Rio, Copacabana Beach, and Guanabara Bay. Enjoy a panoramic city tour through Rio before returning to your hotel. Accommodation for the night.
After breakfast, enjoy a visit to the Tijuca National Park including a hike to two waterfalls and several caves inside the Park. Some of these caves were former slave homes when they used to live inside the park. Return to your hotel.
Tonight is "The Parade', the highlight of the Rio Carnival. This must-see show has made Rio de Janeiro the Carnival capital of the world. The samba schools belonging to this evening's group are especially magnificent and sumptuous as 6 of the best 12 samba schools march on Sunday. Doors open at 17:00, opening ceremony at 20:00, parades start at 21:00. Special Group Grandstand ticket included in sector 9, touristic section with numbered seats. It is an open space, accessed by stairs.
After breakfast, a half day visit to Corcovado, the mountain home to the world famous, Christo de Redentor statue. Take the special traian up for a magnificent panoramic view of Rio. After lunch, a visit to the Botanical gardens of Rio to view a variety of exotic and native plants.
Day 5. Rio de Janeiro (Breakfast)After breakfast, pick up to start your half day tour which includes a short hiking trip to Morro Dois Irmãos or Caldo de Cana.Located in Leblon and Vidigal, the pacification of the Vidigal favela now allows us to go to the top of the Two Brothers Cliff in Leblon. It's the only mountain which gives you a 360° view of Rio with a complete view of Pedra da Gávea, Lagoa, Christ the Redeemer, Sugarloaf Mountain, and the south zone beaches, such as Ipanema and Leblon. In taking part in this tour, you'll be contributing to the Vidigal Mountain Center, a social project which teaches the children of the Favela through mountain sports. Return to your hotel. Free afternoon.
Day 6. Rio de Janeiro - Brasilia (Breakfast & dinner)
After breakfast, transfer to the airport for your flight to Brasilia. Arrival to Brasilia and transfer to your hotel (1 hour 30 minutes), the 4 star Saint Paul Plaza. Inaugurated as Brazil's capital in 1960, it is a planned city distinguished by its white, modern architecture, chiefly designed by Oscar Niemeyer.
In the evening, enjoy a night tour offering a different perspective of the city, when colorful and interesting lightning, makes its highlights even more beautiful. The tour starts at the Television Tower for a panoramic view of the city at 75m height. It also visits one of the most beautiful catholic churches, Sanctuary of Dom Bosco, which was designed by Carlos Alberto Naves and enchants guests with the contrast of a crystal chandelier with pink and blue stained glasses. The tour also crosses the JK Bridge, considered one of the most beautiful bridges of the twentieth century by the North American Architecture Association.Dinner in a local restaurant (beverages not included)
After breakfast, enjoy a Cultural city tour with a visit the Palace of Itamaraty, where the Foreign Ministry hosts one of the biggest collections of Brazilian modern art, including paintings, sculptures, tapestry, and gifts from foreign countries. The visit continue to the Congress Building, the Deputies and the Senator's Houses, and the Museum of Candanga. Return to your hotel.
Day 8. Brasilia (Breakfast)After breakfast, transfer out.
